Who are we ? And what do we do ?
Back in time in January 1, 2001. Van der Pijl Auto's based in Woerden Netherlands opened its doors at Leidekkersweg 24 and so we started the journey to where we are today. Our daily activity was buying and selling used cars. We also increasingly did the maintenance and necessary repairs, so a few years later we decided to convert our rental property into a partial showroom with a small workshop. Because we intended to become more and more professional and want to distinguish ourselves, we joined AD Autobedrijf in 2005. This is a garage workshop concept that originated in France, we also regularly encounter them in Spain.
January 2009. we were given the opportunity to move to a beautiful location in Woerden on the Hoge Rijndijk. This building was considerably larger and had a Showroom for about 15 cars, an outdoor area for about 20 cars and a nice spacious workshop with a company house. above where we lived for about 12 years and our 3 children grew up. The AD Autobedrijf workshop concept mentioned above was already coming to an end, In the Netherlands this concept did not go as well as in France or Spain, so we decided to orient ourselves on a new step, The choice was between Bosch Car Service or Vakgarage, Because we like wanting to do business as much as possible in a free way, the choice fell for Vakgarage, This (only) truly Dutch workshop concept appealed to us the most, It is a SOFT franchise concept which means that you are largely free to do business how you that is, Vakgarage also just took a new path in that period and that path certainly appealed to us, A new modern house style, A national joint marketing rollout, good agreements with suppliers, This was and is certainly a serious party that did something they promised. And that is how Vakgarage van der Pijl in Woerden was born, where we served our customers for years and built up a good reputation, simply by doing what you promise.
2014. My wife and I sometimes talked about emigrating to a beautiful country where the climate is just a bit better, where people live differently than in the Netherlands.. Less rushed and a little more "life" Australia is once discussed, but that is just too far away from family and friends. It is also more difficult to settle there outside the EU. So Australia didn't become him and we left it for what it was..
2018 - 2019. Of course we still had the itch to leave the Netherlands, Why not to Spain? We used to love watching "I'm leaving" and wondering why not, so can we!! So hop on the plane and rent a car in Valencia and just drive around for 2 weeks and visit cities and villages between Valencia and Almeria, Valencia city .. of course super beautiful, but too busy for us, Almeria did not appeal to us so that was not the case. the choice eventually fell on the Alicante region, nice Spanish and plenty to find for a reasonable price. Came home talking and thinking.. after all, we also have 3 kids who had to come along, so you will sleep on that for longer than 1 night.. But finally made the decision and decided to offer our company and business premises for sale at the end of 2019.. But there was suddenly the COVID period and everything was on the back burner for a while, had some takeover candidates which ultimately came to nothing..
At the end of 2020 it was time, Our property and house were sold!! The garage was no longer a garage but was converted into a Toolstation.
June 2021. But what now? Fortunately, we were able to rent our company home for another six months and in the meantime we decided to buy a camper and first take a sabbatical for a year. We started in Sweden and drove north to Lapland, back via the coast and by boat to Germany. We have visited various countries in Eastern Europe and after a stopover in the Netherlands went south and again visited various locations in Spain and of course also enjoyed the surroundings and the journey.
March 2022. After viewing a number of houses in the Alicante area, we found a nice spot in Castalla - Alicante, where we now live to our full satisfaction. But we still miss being useful, doing something, back to work, because yes, after 1 or 2 years of a sabbatical, it is time to do something again, we are really not ready for our retirement yet and we want that really not yet.. We don't want to start a garage and do the same thing anymore. It brings with it a lot of obligations in terms of permits, environmental rules and responsibilities for staff. But what I disliked the most in the garage was being stationary in a place within set times.
2023, Officially independent again under the name NedCar.es But now in Castalla - Alicante - Spain (with nice weather) Our services are clear and sound ready!! We sell good used cars from the Netherlands and Spain, Help people with the import of their car and offer us as a purchase buddy.. Not inconvenient in Spain to take someone to buy a car, We also focus on Car transport for car companies , dealers and private individuals. This way we are not stuck in 1 place and we also see some of beautiful Spain.
